According to a legend, Yemanya's (the Goddess of the Ocean) first gift to her beloved humans was a sea shell in which her voice could always be heard. To this day, when we hold a shell to our ear, we hear the voice of the Ocean. Shells are also the home certain creatures create to live in for their entire life, and for this reason, they are symbols of safety, independence, self-reliance, + protection. When the creature dies, it leaves its shell behind, and the shell becomes a bridge between life on Earth + the Divine. They are a beautiful gift of Earth and Sea; they are found in the space between these two kingdoms, which is revealed when the Moon gently tosses them ashore every tidal cycle.

This mala is made with 108, 8 mm high grade crystals (AA, AAA and AAAA), gold plated + gold filled details, an animal charm and a small tassel. It is approximately 36 inches long with a 1.25 inch pendant, it hangs approximately 19 inches and has a beautiful weight to it (108 grams / 3.8 oz).
Each bead is carefully and mindfully knotted by hand using high quality nylon cord. It may relax, but it should not stretch. Once finished, we cleanse and activate it for you with a moonlight bath.
